Profile

About me and my therapy practice

Perhaps you are feeling low or anxious; perhaps you are struggling with a loss or in emotional pain; perhaps you are unsure about the future of a relationship, or maybe you just feel life is lacking purpose? Changing old patterns of behaviour and core beliefs may not be immediately obvious. As the saying goes - “you can’t read the label from inside the jar” or you can’t efficiently identify or solve your own problems because you’re just too close to them.

I am here to guide, support and encourage you on your path to self-healing, and self-discovery. To step out and see the bigger picture and find the solutions to your difficulties. Therapy is an investment in yourself. Just as your physical health requires attention and self-care, so does your mental health.

I work relationally and believe that each person experiences the world in a unique way, and there is no one size fits all approach. It is my view that therapy is a co-creative process and that the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to any good therapeutic outcome. Counselling can provide a reformative experience and a new lens for looking at the self, the world, and others. My purpose is to help you uncover your hidden resources and untapped strengths, to gain clarity and perspective on what troubles you.

My previous background in International Relations and my extensive travelling allowed me to appreciate people cultural and individual differences and gain a perspective on culturally sensitive issues, which I embrace in my counselling practice.

I offer free 20 mins initial Zoom or telephone call to discuss your needs. If this is your first experience of therapy, you may feel unsure about what to expect. At your initial consultation, you will have a chance to ask any questions you may have, and I will ask about events in your life and help you determine how I might be able to help you achieve your goals in therapy.
