Profile
Who I am?
Hi, I am Danny and welcome to my profile page. I feel counselling is the best job in the world!
I had a very profound experience of personal therapy which changed my life, but I had no idea at the time that I might one day get the opportunity to give back to others in the same way.
I had a regular job before, but I often felt that something was missing. Along the way, I noticed that I was a very empathic and enjoyed connecting with people on an emotional level. So, this coupled with my fascination for the personal stories of others led me to a career change 10 years ago.
Why are you coming to counselling?
Typically, clients come to me to help them manage their anxiety and relationship issues so they can get back to living life to the full (and being the best version of themselves.)
I also support people who need help processing trauma and PTSD so they feel empowered again and not defined by it.
My approach
Friends and family can be a great support, but they are not always the best listeners. I provide a safe, confidential, inclusive space where you can share your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
We all need to make time to heal when we are injured, mental health is the same. I can ensure that you take that time for yourself.
As a humanistic integrative practitioner by training, I have studied a variety of models. This allows me to tailor an approach that’s right for you. One size does not fit all. Essentially, I want to understand what it is to be you and how you move through the world, the things you experience and how they affect you. With a fresh perspective we can begin reframing what your concerns are so that their impact becomes and less and less. I want to help you become the best version of you. Imagine being free of your anxiety and getting back to doing the things you enjoy most.
My experience of living with PTSD as a young adult and recovering from it in later life helps me empathise with my clients and the challenges they face in their lives. People say that I am analytical with good attention to detail, I think this helps me in the way I work with clients.
What does this mean for you?
Through this approach, I will help you learn how to self-reflect constructively and compassionately, developing your self-awareness so that you are more in tune with your needs. These are the skills that you will take away after our work together concludes.
